Elephant in the room

Seeing how easy is now to program with AI. I used it also to help me to write a draft of a book and here on this site some topics – probably one can recognize it where there are no grammar or other kind of mistakes. It is handy. I don’t see its value though in the helping of writing some blog entries or books.

What I have seen is that in the area of programming it is immensly helpful. I did not know SWIFT – a programming language mostly use for Apple products – but I can say that I know made some simple programs. I do understand the code now, also because an AI – chat gpt explained it to me. And it is similiar to other well known programming languages, though like in the world of human languages there are different languages in IT, some quite similiar with the similiar “grammar” and others that are quite different.

I wonder how the next year for software engineers will look like; in three years, five years. Some say they will not be needed anymore. I can see that. Or that it is totally changed. Most software interaction will be quite different. AI agents will do probably the most. Imagine them like a person who you can ask what you want to have. Since for IT we have immense data there they can do the most. Basically what you ask now a data scientist you can ask directly an AI system. So the interaction will be much more like in Sci-fi where you ask “the computer” what do you need and want. So far that is only for IT, for now.

So while most of the user interaction with IT system will change, I think that it will not change so dramatically in games. Games are here to please us. It makes no sense to let the computer play for us. We want to enjoy playing. Well I can imagine that we could enjoy to look at them how they play, but still we want to play ourselves.

Anyway the future will be interesting…
